This quickstart walks through the shortest path from creating a workspace to holding evidence you can act on. For more detail on any step, see Get started and Using voi.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you should have:
  • A short description of your project: who you serve, what you do, and what you’re trying to change
  • Your organisation’s privacy policy link, if you have one. This is what tells respondents how you will process and protect their data; it is shown in the consent message they see before they answer. You can add it later, but voi warns you before you launch without it.

Get started

1

Create your account, workspace, and billing

Sign up with your work email, accept the Terms of Service (which include the Data Processing Agreement), name your workspace, and add a payment method or confirm you’re working from funding set aside by another organisation. See Create your voi account.
2

Describe your project

In Plan, tell the assistant who you serve, what you do, and what you want to change. voi drafts a Theory of Change and a first version of your interview guide within minutes.
3

Review and adjust the guide

Edit the Theory of Change and the questions on the page or through the chat, and set a target length if you want one. voi keeps the interview within it and tells you if an outcome does not fit. See Plan.
4

Share the study

Send respondents a link, or run the interview yourself in person or over the phone if a direct link isn’t realistic for them. See Share.
5

Track responses, then analyse

Use Review to read through your responses and export your data. Once you have enough, open Analyse for indicator scores and themes, or ask Explore a direct question about your results.
6

Build your report

Draft a report from your analysis, customise which sections and quotes it includes, and share it with the audience you choose. See Report.
